WHO AM I?

I was born in the west coast of Finland in a little village, where almost all the neighbours were relatives. There were no opportunities to study art, so I picked up my skills from books and magazines. During my teens, I made a number of sketches from pop stars, and the most famous was Bob Dylan.

Quite soon after I had begun to study art, I started to experiment with different kinds of pictorial presentations - three dimensional, machinery and paint-over images. I also experimented with drawing pictures with my left hand, and all this took some 15 years.

However, despite the fact that the art institutions gave a lot of artistic support, I kept on being irritated by the obligatory need to write texts. In my early 30s, I began to write about anything that came to my mind - my memories mostly. This writing created a lot of mental space, and after close to 3000 pages at the age of 40, I felt like a newborn baby. Soon after, I travelled to southern India and stayed in a little palm frond hut. I felt contented with my life, and its simple existence, and vowed that I would no longer be engaged in the previous experimentation process. However, a few years later, I did it on video. Only time will tell what happens next.
